The SoundWorks Collection presents the "How to Train Your Dragon" Sound Show. The Sound Show gives the general public a chance to go behind the scenes of the creation of a major motion picture and hear the details of the sophisticated sound work crafted by key members the movie’s team of audio artisans.

Excerpts from the movie are presented with special “pre-dubb” mixes to illustrate the variety of elements used to create a sonic environment of moods and thrills.

Guiding us through their processes is award-winning Supervising Sound Editor, Sound Designer and Re-Recording Mixer Randy Thom, Sound Designer Al Nelson, Sound re-recording Mixer Gary Rizzo, Director Chris Sanders, and Film Editor Darren Holmes.

This event was produced by the Motion Picture Sound Editors organization, Skywalker Sound, DreamWorks Animation, and Paramount Pictures.

Synopsis

From the studio that brought you “Shrek,” “Madagascar” and “Kung Fu Panda” comes “How to Train Your Dragon.” Set in the mythical world of burly Vikings and wild dragons, and based on the book by Cressida Cowell, the action comedy tells the story of Hiccup, a Viking teenager who doesn’t exactly fit in with his tribe’s longstanding tradition of heroic dragon slayers. Hiccup’s world is turned upside down when he encounters a dragon that challenges he and his fellow Vikings to see the world from an entirely different point of view.
