TODD SOUNDELUX Names Sara Duran-Singer CEO
TODD SOUNDELUX today announced it will name Sara Duran-Singer as its new Chief Executive Officer.
Duran-Singer, with more than 25 years of leadership experience in the post production business, joins the TODD SOUNDELUX organization from Walt Disney Studios, where she most recently served as Senior Vice President of Worldwide Post Production. In this position, Duran-Singer was responsible for the operational and strategic planning for the company’s post production units, as well as serving as the executive lead for the restoration and preservation efforts for the Studio’s legacy live action and animated titles.
TODD SOUNDELUX is a leading provider of creative post production sound services for feature films, television, commercials and interactive entertainment, with services marketed under the brand names of Todd-AO, Soundelux, POP Sound, Modern Music, Soundelux Design Music Group, and The Hollywood Edge.
“The opportunity to lead an organization consisting of historically significant and storied Hollywood brands, such as Todd-AO and Soundelux, is quite exciting and represents both a great privilege and an equal amount of responsibility,” said Duran-Singer. “Having spent more than 25 years in this business, I have acquired great admiration and respect for these iconic companies and the people who have helped build these companies into globally recognized leaders in creative and technical excellence. These are solid professionals and I could not be more grateful for the confidence extended to me in being asked to lead this vibrant and dynamic community of people.”
“We are very pleased to be able to bring a leader of Sara’s caliber to TODD SOUNDELUX,” said David F. Alfonso, the company’s owner. “Our vision when we acquired this company last year was to develop and position the organization for growth and creative leadership for the future. To this end, we engaged in a lengthy and thorough search for an executive with strong professional and leadership credentials, but also someone who fully understands and appreciates the unique context of a company culture that values and nurtures individuality and creativity.”
“During this process, Sara emerged as a candidate who embodies all these qualities and whose deep passion for, and understanding of, our business allowed her to connect with us both organically as well as viscerally,” said Alfonso. “As an important part of identifying our new CEO, we invited members of our creative teams to also meet with Sara to provide an opportunity to engage in a collaborative process – an exercise which yielded a strong and unanimous conclusion.”
